UEFA Champions League Round-Up; Wednesday 9th December, 2021

It was the last day of the group stage fixtures. It was the day to determine the fate of some teams while some teams already knew their fate and playing of the match was a mere formality. Here is a breakdown of the matches across Europe in the UCL.

Bayern 3:0 Barcelona
Bayern continued their fine run to the season with a rout and assault, yet again against Barcelona. Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, and J. Muslala found the back of the net for the German champion, while Catalan had no response. This eventually led to the early elimination of the Spanish giant in the group stage for the first time after over a decade.

The Catalans would have to settle down for a place in the Europa. However, Bayern qualified with a 100% group stage record, winning six out of six amassing a total of 18 points, followed by Benfica who narrowly edged Barcelona by a point margin. Dynamo Kyiv settled for the bottom as they could only get a point from the group.
