Mendy faces seventh count rape charge
VAR247 has gathered that Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy had been remanded in police custody after a new litigator surfaced in his ongoing rape and sexual assault saga. He was accused of a seventh count rape.
Mendy was initially reported last week for a series of sexual offenses. He was further charged with a count of rape, which was subject to reporting restrictions. Mendy was paraded before the Chester crown court after the restrictions were lifted on Wednesday, which served as a dress verdict for his ultimate hearing next year. These charges are related to reports that got to the authority in July.
Mendy, who is 27 appeared in court with a white coat only to say his name with the aid of an interpreter. He is now accused of eight offenses against five women, which include seven counts of rape relating to four women. The earlier charges are three counts of rape, alleged to have happened on 11 October 2020; sexual touching on 2 January 2021; one count of rape on 24 July 2021, and two counts of rape on 23 August 2021.

The France international appeared with his compatriot, Louis Saha, who was also a defendant and charged with nearly similar offenses.
Patrick Thompson, who was the judge of the trials remanded both defendants into custody at HMP Altcourse, Liverpool, until the 7th of January, when a further pre-trial hearing will be held.
Benjamin Mendy was born on the 17th of July 1994 in Longjumeau, France. He currently plays the left-back position for Manchester City Football Club. He started pursuing his professional career as a footballer when he joined Le Havre‘s for his development, and eventually graduated through the rank and joined the first team in 2010.
Although he was always on the bench for the entirety of 2010 as a reserve player, Mendy eventually broke into the first team in 2011. After a stunning performance for two consecutive seasons, Mendi signed for Olympic Maesseil. He was sent out on loan to gather his first-team experience at Les Olympiens.
He peradventure impressed and joined Monaco at the expiration of his loan spell. Mendy joined Manchester City from Monaco in 2017 for a then club-record fee of £52m and has so far made 97 appearances for the England giant.
In a statement released by the club relating to Mendi’s trial, the club made its stand clear concerning the ongoing saga.
“Manchester City can confirm that following his being charged by police today, Benjamin Mendy has been suspended pending an investigation. The matter is subject to a legal process and the club is, therefore, unable to make further comment until that process is complete.”
